Our best-selling sci-fi series continues

Following their dramatic showdown in Seattle, Jesse Fisher and Cassius Stevenson find their world’s been turned inside out. The faculty at Skyship Academy is keeping Jesse a prisoner in his own home, fearful of his influence over Pearls. And Cassius, once a loyal Pearlhound for the Unified Party, has been pushed into hiding, fearful of his government's retaliation.

When Jesse smuggles a mysterious red Pearl onboard the Academy, he sets loose a destructive chain of events, which lead him to a reunion with Cassius and a confrontation with Theo -- a bloodthirsty Pearlhound with a dangerous secret.

But a larger threat looms in the stars. An enemy is gathering, with plans to exterminate the entire human race. And Jesse and Cassius might just be the lynch pins that trigger mankind's destruction.

Evaluation Epithetical Books Crimson Rising (Skyship Academy #2)
This is Book Two in a several book saga titled Skyship Academy, and I am here to tell you that I would have been well served to read Book One first! (I know...duhhh!!) This sci fi young adult saga takes place a hundred or so years into the future. At this time planet Earth has been devastated by war and the onset of global warming. Warring factions of the survivors have separated into three camps: those who live in Chosen Cities, which are domed and climate controlled; those Separatists who

The moment I picked up this book, I couldn't stop. It was so exciting, dynamic, and full of action. I liked how Jesse gained some backbone in this one compared to the first book. The plot thickens with the rise of a new enemy and I'm so excited for the third one! I like the characters more in this one, but Cassius doesn't seem to have much about him compared with Jesse. And I'm not sure if it's because I read the first one a while ago, but there seemed a little connection as to how Jesse gained

--Full, non-spoiler review courtesy at Book & Movie Dimension a Blog-- In Skyship Academy: The Pearl Wars, we learned that Jesse and Cassius both are Drifters or simply put aliens from out of Earth. Jesse and Cassiu's parents had lived on until their planet became unstable so they had to send their people off their planet , although The Authority who is composed of people who are coming from Haven (Jesse Fisher and Cassius Stevenson's home planet) who happen to be Shifters and are capable of

The concept is just so fresh and unique that you can't help but to enjoy it. This novel had a lot of action and and just entertaining scenes as a whole. Once again the story is told from the different perspectives of Jesse and Cassius. Even though they are brothers they are completely different characters,

Crimson Rising totally awed me! It's a furiously fast-paced blend of action and science fiction set against a well-developed post-apocalyptic backdrop. A fantastic, intensely readable sequel to one of my favorite books of 2011! Cassius is on the run. After he betrayed Madam and destroyed a government building, he was forced to escape to Canada's Polar Cities. His plan was to lie low, stay out of the radar of the Unified Party and learn how to control his newly awakened power. Ever since he ran

Crimson Rising was about Jesse Fisher and Cassius Stevenson trying to fight for their lives. The government had pushed Cassius into hiding on Earth. But once Jesse finds a red pearl and brings it back to Skyship Academy it leads to a lot of destruction. But the red pearl leads Jesse to meet his brother, Cassius, again. He also has an unwanted meeting with Theo, Madames new little servant, who has a crazy capability for killing people very easily and he enjoys doing it too. They then find out

This is the second book in the series (trilogy?) and it does a good job of continuing the action. Several new figures have been added to the cast. Theo, in particular, is a very interesting character. I'm curious to see if he continues all bad or if he's redeemable. The action is pretty good, especially at the end. My quibble with the plot is how often things happen coincidentally or fortuitously. It's lazy plotting and could so easily be set up so it doesn't feel author manipulated. I also
