Narrative Supposing Books The Vampire's Seduction (Savannah Vampire #1)
When it comes to a wild and seductive nightlife, Savannah has bite.Older than the United States and wealthy beyond his years, playboy William Cuyler Thorne is a vampire with a nice long undead life—one that includes a steady stream of admirers, a consistent supply of rejuvenating blood, and, best of all, a cover as one of Savannah's most prominent pillars of society.
But all good things must end.
Now an ancient enemy has come for William from across the seas. It is his sire, Reedrek, the vampire who created him. And Reedrek will stop at nothing until all that is precious to William—his beautiful mistress, his stable of willing female victims, his glorious estates, and his good-ol'-boy vampire sidekick, Jack—is within his voracious grasp. But William has an arsenal of his own—one that is enhanced by the power of voodoo. And when these two bloodsuckers meet, there will be hell to pay.

This looks like it's going to be a great series. I love the way it switches from two POVs; William's and Jack's. More than that would be confusing, but two is just right, allowing us a greater range of events and emotions. William and Jack's creator/child relationship is frustrating. I hate the way William seems to not care that Jack is feeling unwanted and useless, but that leads to their conflicts later in the story. The villain: Reedrek does a great job of trying to tear them apart. HisIn what kind of backwards world do you live in where you legitimately think you can call this book a romance novel? Seriously? Just because people are having sex in a book doesn't mean its a romance. That aside, lets get down to business. 1) William - an overprotective ninny. Not impressed.2) Jack- a "playboy who secretly yearns for a serious relationship" type. Not impressed. 3) Elanor and the "swans" - serious sufferers of underdeveloped female character syndrome. Not impressed.4) Olivia - set
One of the absolute best vampire books I've read in a long time!!!

Being raised in the South, I do find that I enjoy books that take place there and give it the attention like a character. Savannah, GA is the added character to this story that already has some brilliant characters in it. The undead life of a vampire sees many changes. The history of Savannah mirrors the undead life of William who has seen so much violence and tragedy, but still finds renewal. This is a fabulous story of the two main characters William and his progeny of 140 years, Jack. What you
Ok...now on to a new series....I feel so bad, I haven't picked this up since September...it's really good, but life has just sort of taken over!!! Hopefully I'll be able to get it finished in the next few weeks.....although, tomorrow is December 1st...so who knows, it may have to wait til after the holidays are over!!! :( Happy Reading all!!! :)UPDATE: February 3rd, 2010...I had to put it away! I just couldn't get into it...not sure if it was because I found it so slow going...even tho I am
This book was described on Vampire Wire as "early Anne Rice", with more concentration on the plot of evil vampires, not so much on romance. I don't think I would describe it as early Anne Rice, but stuff like that is so subjective. It does have a good dose of sex and tension in it, which is very well done and advances the storyline or develops characters. The premise: William Cuyler Thorne is an old (circa 1500's) vampire who lives in Savannah, GA. He's got two ancient Egyptian guard dogs who
This book was not what I thought it would be like when I first picked up the book. I thought it would be a romance but it was a bit more like an Anne Rice book.Jack and his sire William live in Savannah. William has an import business (which secretly transports vampires from Europe to America). When one of the imports is killed it doesnt take William long to work out it was his sire Reedek who was responsible. The book is pretty cool with vampires, shape shifters and voodoo.
