Commentary Concering Books Freewill (Freewill #1)
Freewill is a Young Adult slipstream novel that embodies both science fiction and dark fantasy, with strong paranormal romantic overtones. Within its pages a world comes to life, where mythology is real and evident in humanity's interaction with the ethereal Others. Ellie, once a human but now an Other (an empathic creature surviving in a fugue state, inside the otherworldly veil for over sixty years,) has been finding the strength to exist through her compulsion to be a muse; that is, until she meets Christopher. Christopher, a present day young man with the special talent to foresee the truth of the intangible Others, quickly becomes Ellie's heart's desire. Ellie and Christopher inevitably find themselves developing an unusual relationship, where touching one another can only happen in Christopher’s dreams. Unbeknownst to them, ever since Ellie's birth in 1922, destiny's hand, guided by mythical forces and fairytale lineage, has been pushing them into each other's embrace, while also potentially into the arms of evil Others called the Timoro, and into the sights of dangerous feuding organizations-- the Symboulio: the council of the ancient and divine, and the Symbio: the new world council of acceptance. In this first book of the trilogy, the readers start to understand that Ellie’s transformation into an Other as an empath is exceptionally rare; only happening one additional time, over 2,000 years ago. Finally awakened by Christopher’s presence, if she does not build a connection to lessen the burden of feeling the world’s emotions she will cease to exist. Delving into a mixture of historical events, mythical manifestations, and folklore, the setting provides glimpses into familiar images that lull the reader into believing they know what may happen next … but that doesn't account for Free Will.Declare Books To Freewill (Freewill #1)

Author has provided review copy from Smashwords via We ♥ YA Books in exchange for my fair, honest, and authentic review-copy provided August 21, 2012.Freewill is the first in the trilogy by the same name, an unusual and complex metaphysical exploration of the world beyond the perception of most, and the many divergent ways in which we humans are affected by it. Although it commences in early 20th century England (approx. 1920) and moves to events of 1940 during the Nazi blitz of London, for meWell, well, encountered feelings toward this book that ended up in a very good sentiment.I say this because at the beginning I honestly wasn't sure what I was reading, each chapter talking about different people and things that didn't seem to connect at all but then as the story develops I understood a little bit more and the ending really gave closure to those loose ends that were bugging me. And it was like OMG! The story goes around two main characters that are Ellie and Christopher, both
Freewill is a really good paranormal romance! Its hard to get into to much of the plot without giving it away! Freewill kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next! I will say I did get confused some because the story went from one point to the next and left you wondering and rereading just to see where some came into place, but about halfway through everything fell into place and turned out to be a wonderful read! Most definitely worth the read!! Looking forward to the next book!

Disclaimer: I received an ebook copy of this book from the author, Elyse Draper (Thank you very much), in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and is not influenced by anything or anyone.Freewill has a unique and interesting story, certainly one I haven't read before. But I got confused between the transition from the first part to the second part that I had to skim back and forth to make sure I understood it right. The first part is set in the late 1800s while the rest of the
This is the first book in a trilogy and it sets everything up perfectly. The author is a brilliant story teller who immediately sucks the reader into the story and keeps them glued to the pages from beginning to end. You will find yourself caring about every single character very quickly and at times you will want to hug them and at other times you may wish you could reach in the pages and give them a bit of a swat upside the head! I won't give the story away, but there are a lot of twists and
Rating: 3.75/5 starsThis is such a hard novel for me to put into words. Made even harder by the fact that I haven't quite made sense of everything yet. Freewill is definitely not your average paranormal novel. I'm still not quite sure where we're heading but that only excites me! What I am left with though is a million questions. I say that in a good way and I can't wait for the answers to unfold. Like many others, I too had a difficult time starting this novel. For me, I found I had to be in
'Amazing, exciting and different.' FREEWILL was cleverly devised into a heart-pounding story with soulmates and love in the air. I loved Elizabeth Tickle (the main protagonist in the story) from the start till the end. She was a fun and serious character, neither this or that, with her creative streak flying about, I knew this story was going to be gripping-onto-the edge book. Elyse Draper has written a Goodread!
